When I use "make edaptable", adobe animate is unresponsive.

Hi, I recently ran into a problem I had with adobe animate version 2023 and the full version of the flanimate plugin. When I re-edit a character skeleton that I configured before, I can't edit it with the FreeStyleRigging tool at some point (it doesn't show the lines that represent the character connections by default like before), I need to select all the character parts and re-edit it with the "SMR helper(make edaptable,)" panel to reconfigure it once more, this is one of the problems, why they do not work? Another problem is that at the beginning when I click "make edaptable", it is fast, but after I use it for a while, I find that every time I click "make edaptable", I need to wait for a long time, adobe animate will be unresponsive and turn black for more than 3~6 minutes. It will be restored only after 3-6 minutes.

I tried the same operation in a previous document that only had about 7 or 8 characters in it, but without any animation, and it would also get stuck and recover after 3~6 minutes. I'm not sure what the problem is and would appreciate some help.

My computer configuration is.

Hi liangyunlong,
The only way we can investigate the reported issues is if we can reproduce them.

If you like, you can record a video (screen capture) of what exactly you do and send us the video and the FLA file which causes the unresponsiveness to inspect it and try to find the causes.

Generally speaking the FreeStyle Rigging tool is not designed to edit rigs. It is useful for quick initial rigging. Editing is usually done via the specialised tools, which we cover in detail in the Advanced SMR articles.

I recorded a video, which I hope will show the problems I encountered very well.

Thanks for the video!

As I said earlier, we need to have the FLA file as well, so that we can try to reproduce and investigate the cause of the issue.

You can send the file via email if you prefer. It will not be public. The address is on our Contact page.

i done.
sorry, my English is not very good, I may have missed the part about providing fla.
Thank you for the file!

We ran some tests and found out that the performance of Animate 23 is 3 to 5 times slower than that of Animate 22.
In the case with tens of symbols in the Library this slowness results in the blacking of the screen, while the script recursively goes through all the timelines in the document.
Unfortunately, Animate's performance has been getting worse with each new release in the last 5-6 years and Adobe do not seem to be bothered by that.

To make things more tolerable, you can cut one character's container symbol and paste it in a new document, run Make Edaptable there and then bring it back to your original file, replacing the symbols.

Also: Please, keep in mind that Make Edaptable is meant to be run only once before the initial rigging, and only in the cases when there is a Registration/Transformation point mismatch. It is not a command that you should run frequently. If you need to edit your rigs, please use the tools that are meant for that, such as Edit Magnet Targets, Roll Over Rig Info, SMR Panel and so on.
