Is there a way to clean up every 2nd frame?

the question derives from the case that I need to do some clean up on top of the final animation. To animate on two or thirds would be sufficient for my case and save quite some time.

Hi Erik,

The simple answer is 'no'. Clean Up and IK Clean Up are designed to work with tweens and generate keyframes for every frame.

However, if you want to work on twos and still use tweens to speed up your workflow, a good approach is to set your FLA to 12 or 12.5 fps (depending on whether your intended frame rate is 24 or 25 respectively) and work on ones.
Then export a PNG sequence and in Premiere or other video editor set each of these to stay on screen for two frames; export your final video as standard 24 or 25 fps, remapping the audio there.

You can also achieve the same result within Animate.
Work inside a container at half frame rate. When work is done, convert the container to frame-by-frame animation, stop the symbol instances at those keyframes using Edit Multiple Frames, change the frame rate to 24 or 25, and then double the duration of the frame spans by dragging the vertical yellow border on the right, effectively making each frame stay for two frames. The audio will re-sync.
In this way your animation with tweens inside the container will still be editable and on ones.

You can apply a similar technique if you work at full frame rate, but instead of stretching each frame to stay for two, you can drop every second frame, making it look as if the animation was made on twos. This is faking animation on twos, which I understand is not what you want. Only mentioning it, for others who may read this thread.

Hope this helps!
