Unable to finish installation of EDAP Tools in Animate 2024

I am unable to finish installation of EDAPT 6.9.0 in Adobe Animate (24.0.1)
On clicking the Install-Uninstall EDAPT.jsfl and following the prompts, I encounter an error and cannot proceed.

This is the error:
Some installation files are missing.
Make sure you unzip the downloaded package, keeping the folder structure and run EDAPT Setup from the unzipped location.

I have downloaded the package multiple times and tried clean installs of both the EDAPT Tools and Animate 2024 - but encounter the same issue.

I am following the instructions corrctly and am not moving anything out of the unzipped folder.

I have the Edapt Tools: EDAPT 6.9.0 installed in Adobe Animate 2023 (23.0.4) and am able to use all of them without issue in that version of Animate.

Is there something I am missing?
Is there a work around for the install problem?

You can try to install manually.
The process is described here: https://flash-powertools.com/manual-installation-of-edap-tools/

If the manual installation does not work, please, record a video (screen capture) so that we can see exactly how you attempt the normal installation and all the prompts and messages, and post a link to the video.

Good luck!

Nick,

Thanks for this information and thanks for continuing to develop great Flash tools!

Here is what I did to make things work.

I am working on a Mac.

Since I have a fully working version of Animate 2023 that I could continue working with (nothing to lose), I decided to try a "nuclear" option with Animate 2024.

I copied all of the contents of the 2023 Configuration folder and overwrote the Configuration folder in a clean install of Animate 2024. This actually worked and did not seem to break the 2024 version (as far as I can tell from working with the 2024 version for the last few hours)

The EDAPT Tools are all working as expected.

This was an extreme option - but seems to have worked.

Next time I have an issue like this (hopefully never) - I will reference the manual install information you linked for me.

Many thanks!
Thank you very much for reporting back and also for the kind words about our work!

The manual install is exactly what you have done, but just more precisely targeted to only EDAPT-related files.
So I have to congratulate you on your intuition and the success.

I can only speculate what the cause of the original issue could have been - possiblly the OS blocking access to files for one reason or another.

Best regards
