Question about inheriting rotation angle in SMR / KineFlex

Hello, and thank you for your amazing tools.

I have a question regarding the parenting behavior in Smart Magnet Rigs (SMR) using the SMRize Parented function.

When I rotate a parent symbol, the child symbol follows the transformation visually (it orbits around the parent’s transform point), but the child’s actual rotation angle does not change.

Is there a way to make the child symbol inherit the same rotation angle as the parent?
In other words, I want the child’s rotation value to automatically match the parent’s rotation delta.

If this is already possible, could you please let me know how to enable that behavior?
If not, is it something that could be added in a future update?

Hello Yawa,

 

Yes, we distinguish between soft rotation and hard rotation.

Hard rotation can be achieved by holding down the Alt key while using KineFlex.

If you need to make it persistent, look into soft-welding the elements.
