Sound Sync panel

This is a feature of EDAP Tools Premium

Functionality

Flexible, customizable panel with multiple buttons, providing sound-related functionality.

1. Synchronization of the audio layers* between the current internal symbol timeline and the Main timeline.
Selected layers can be 'pushed' or 'pulled' which results in overwriting the content at the destination to match that of the source, specified by the direction of the action (Push to main or Pull from main).

2. Add Sound allows to copy any of the sound layers present on the Main timeline without leaving the current timeline.

3. Set volume allows adjusting the sound envelope of a whole sound layer or a block frame selection.

4. Set Sync to Stream allows to check and set to Stream all audio in the whole document, the current timeline or selected Library items.

*Audio layer is any layer which only consists of Keyframes with sound, Blank Keyframes or labels.

Suggested use

Character animation.
When animating for non-interactive projects, typically copies of audio layers are present inside various nested timelines for the purposes of lip syncing or animating to dialogue and music. These internal duplicates only serve as working previews, while only the Main timeline audio is exported to video.

When one of the copies of the audio layers is changed, this change needs to be transferred to the others, which requires constant going in and out of the symbols and copy/pasting layers or frame blocks.
Push to main and Pull from main allow users to keep the current and Main timelines always synchronized with the press of a button.

Where does it work?

Push to main, Pull from main and Add Sound can only be invoked from an internal timeline.
Push to main, Pull from main and Set volume require a timeline selection.
