Customization, Interactions
Click on a Thumbnail to apply a saved ease to a tween or a normal span. Requires Timeline selection.
Shift-drag a Thumbnail to rearrange or drop over the Bin icon to delete.
Ctrl+mouse wheel to increase or decrease Thumbnail size.
The size of the Thumbnails can also be set by clicking on the [ ··· ] button at the bottom right corner and then choosing Settings… from the drop-down.
Below Thumbnails is displayed the name of the ease. Names can be hidden to keep the view more compact.
Thumbnails
Thumbnails show a visual approximation of the saved ease graph.
Below the Thumbnail is displayed its name, which for user-saved entries is customizable. The name can be changed by clicking on the [ ··· ] button at the bottom-right corner of each Thumbnail.
The graphs in predefined entries are colored. User-saved entries have black of white graph, depending on the color scheme of the UI.
Procedural ease graphs
There are several special Procedural entries which are marked with P in the upper-left corner. These create 'staircase' ease graphs which simulate animation on 2s, 3s or Ns, where users can choose the step themselves. There is also a Thumbnail which invokes the Stagger Tween
command.
Procedural ease graphs are calculated based on the exact number of frames in a tween span and the steps need to perfectly match the frames. They are not scalable. If the span needs to be re-timed, the Procedural Tween has to be recreated, otherwise it will lose its characteristics.
Posing in both keys, however, can be edited without affecting the Procedural ease graph.
Tween properties separately
Thumbnails for tweens where the different properties don't have the same ease graph are visualized with a little triangle in the top-left corner.
Simple ease graphs
User-saved entries with simple ‑100 to +100 ease graphs display the number in the top-left corner of the Thumbnail.
Button bar at the bottom
Edit Ease – When clicked will invoke the Ease Graph Editor window.
Save Ease – When clicked will save the ease from the currently selected tween frame as Thumbnail.
Delete Thumbnails – Shift-drag a Thumbnail and drop it over the Bin icon to delete.
[ ··· ] Drop-down menu
When clicked the [ ··· ] button at the bottom-right corner will open a drop-down menu which lets you choose settings for the panel, save and manage presets. Presets are built-in or user-defined configurations of ease entries. Presets can be exported to files and later imported into the panel.
Ease Graph Editor
The EDAP Tools Ease Graph Editor is a feature-rich alternative of the default Custom Ease Editor, providing better UI and user experience:
- The graph area can be zoomed in and out for optimal view and control.
- In Animate where the tween engine allows it, users can take full advantage of the possibility to set up Ease Graphs for anticipation and overshoots. (Not possible in Flash.)
Clicking on the Help button in the lower-left corner of the window will display the quick help dialog.

The following interactions are possible within the main editing area:
Mouse Wheel will zoom in or out the view. (It can be quickly reset by clicking on the 1:1 or Fit buttons.)
Ctrl-dragging will pan the active view around.
Clicking on the curve will create a new anchor point.
Shift-clicking on an anchor point will delete it.
Double-clicking on an anchor point will change its state to either smooth or cusp.
Dragging a point (anchor or handle) will move it.
Shift-dragging a point will lock the direction to horizontal or vertical.
Ctrl-dragging a handle will mirror the movement with the opposite handle.
Arrow Keys will move the selected point precisely in small increments.
